APW - Hamilton, Model 22 "Chronometer Watch," deck watch with winding indicator, 21J, "U.S. Navy - Bu. Ships - 1943" marked mvt, 35S, chrome-plated base metal OF original case with contract markings to rear, screw back and inner snap cuvette, silvered dial, SW-SS with safety pin to release setting (depress pin on band in order to pull out stem to set), mono-metallic balance with Elinvar hairspring, fully capped lever escapement, striped pattern nickel damascene, s#2F24137. Comes as pictured with a wooden box with setting instruction plaque. CONDITION: Mvt: Running, good winding indicator function, good safety setting function, excellent cosmetic mvt condition overall, few fine scratches; dial has significant darkening including splotchy appearance of darker areas; nearly mint hands; case shows hardly any wear, some fine scratches, no dents, excellent contract marking detail; crown shows hardly any wear; clean plastic crystal; box shows medium wear, scattered scratches and dings, plastic window is yellowed, interior felt pad is detached from upper portion, button latch functional but operates stiffly.
