Zenith, Swiss, lever escapement marine chronometer with 8-day winding indicator, mvt signed both by Zenith and Vail Watch Co. (a registered American company), mounted in gimbaled brass tub within three-tier wooden box that measures approximately 5 inch cubed, silvered dial of approximately 2.5 inch diameter signed "Zenith Chronometer," lever escapement, 15J with a crude "15" stamped to plate adjacent a factory-executed 6 jewel count marking (crude modifications of jewel count marking is typical of examples we've seen), nickel damascene, s#201122. CONDITION: Mvt: Running, good winding indicator function, nearly mint cosmetic mvt condition overall, some scattered short fine scratches; dial with uneven dark brown discoloration; nearly mint hands; tub and gimbals show light wear, darkening and finish loss to portions; plastic crystal with fine scratches; bow shows medium wear, scattered exterior scratches and dings, good display glass, button latches good.
