APW - Elgin, Grade 411, 21J, 18S, gold-filled OF recase with attractive rear engraving detail including a bird and flowers, white enamel DS dial with impressed center and marginal minute numerals, SW-SS, fully capped lever escapement, two-tone gilt and nickel damascene, s#17288422. The Grade 411 is a scarce watch with a total production of 1000 made, these were all within a single production run and the 411 is very unusual (if not unique) among Elgin grades in that all examples of the grade appear to have been made with two-tone movement finish. CONDITION: Mvt: Running, excellent-plus cosmetic mvt condition overall, excellent two-tone color, some scattered fine to micro-fine scratches, few areas of abrasion; nearly flawless dial with small circular light brown line of rub around seconds-register center; fine hands with some areas of oxide and finish loss; case shows medium wear, some dings to rear, substantially reduced engine turning and engraving detail with areas of full loss, wear to brass to raised ridge at perimeter of bezel and perimeter of rear, wear to brass to high areas of pendant; tight bow is worn nearly entirely to brass, crown shows medium wear; good glass crystal. Estimate: $350 - $550 JH-76979
