EPW - Jules Jürgensen, Copenhagen, 51mm, heavy 18K gold original Jules Jürgensen HC with buck's head engraved to front, Jürgensen lips, bow with chain guards, glazed observation cuvette, white enamel SS dial, SW-bow-set with winding designed to engage only when case front is open, fully capped lever escapement with counterpoise, 20-21J, unusual mvt finish with combination of frosted gilt finish to upper plates and high portion of dial plate with gilt damascene finish to recesses of dial plate below balance wheel and train, s#13334 with matching serial number within case. Gross weight of assembled watch 88.3 dwt (137.4 g). CONDITION: Mvt: Running, excellent cosmetic mvt condition overall, scattered micro-fine scratches, some gilt finish loss at outer portion of balance cock an in few additional small areas at plate perimeters; virtually flawless dial with few micro-fine scratches; excellent hour hand, fine minute hand with some finish loss, seconds-hand would benefit from replacement as present hand is a crude patchwork comprised of just the hub and tail of a hand onto which a length of metal of differing color has been affixed; case shows medium wear, no dents, reduced engraving detail, case springs allowing front to tip back somewhat toward closed; tight bow with evident soldered repair to upper portion causing unevenness to shape of this area, crown shows medium wear; good glass crystals.
