Waltham, lever escapement 8-day U.S. Navy marine chronometer with winding indicator, 37S mvt, 15J, SW-SS, mounted within gimbaled brass tub with U.S. Navy marking and contract serial number marked to its front edge, set in three-tier brass bound mahogany box, metal dial of approximately 2.5 inch diameter, SW-SS, lever escapement, nickel mvt, s#20093758. CONDITION: Mvt: NR, will tick after a twist but stopping occasionally, winding indicator not functioning, overhaul needed for wind indicator function, fine-plus cosmetic mvt condition overall, multiple fine scratches to plates; excellent dial, fine scratch at winding indicator; fine-plus hands, light tarnish and bending to minute hand; tub and gimbals show light wear, many mild surface spots; good glass crystal; box shows light wear, button latch good, missing glass under top tier, locking key not present and lock function unknown.
