LPW - Philadelphia Watch Co, 19J, 8S (42mm case diameter), 18K gold original P.W.Co. (Philadelphia Watch Co.) HC, initialed shield to front, gold cuvette, "Philada Watch Co. E. Paulus" marked white enamel SS dial, KWKS (key not included with this lot), electrum gilt mvt marked "Paulus' Patents," s#2278. Gross weight of assembled watch 40.0 dwt (62.2 g). An attractive gold-cased example from this maker, with movement believed to be primarily of Swiss production and made for the American market. CONDITION: Mvt: Running, excellent cosmetic mvt condition overall, few short fine scratches at screw heads and few micro-fine elsewhere, few small spots of oxide to regulator; visible portion of dial with faint hl between 11 and 1, extremely faint hl at 7; excellent hour hand and seconds-hand, fine minute hand with ample oxide; case shows light to medium wear, scattered mild dents and dings throughout, reduced engine turning detail with some areas of full loss at shoulders; tight bow, push shows light to medium wear; good glass crystal.
