APW - Illinois, Bunn Special with rare fishscale damascene, 23J, 16S, gold-filled OF original case with initials to rear, Montgomery white enamel DS dial with Gothic hour numerals, SW-LS, fully capped lever escapement, jeweled barrel, fishscale pattern nickel damascene, s#2593528. A rare watch, the total production of this open face 23 jewel fishscale pattern Bunn Special is only approximately 320 made. CONDITION: Mvt: NR, fully wound, will tick briefly with a twist, overhaul recommended, fine-plus cosmetic mvt condition overall, bright lustrous surfaces, winding wheels with some oxide, flat upper surfaces of larger winding wheel and also regulator spring with micro-fine scratch striations from a past polishing or sanding; dial with some scattered faint to very faint hls, few tiny surface nicks; fine hands with some areas of oxide and finish loss; case shows ample wear, some scattered dings, reduced engraving detail, wear to brass to much of lower portion of band, perimeters of bezel and rear, and to pendant; tight brassy bow, replacement crown shows light wear; glass crystal with few tiny finish bubbles.
