EPW - Mathey Tissot, Swiss, La Captive shuttered travel or purse watch, 46mm width x 33mm height when closed, sterling silver original case with attractive lined detail, black enamel sides with soft enameled restoration, sides are pressed inward to open front shutters and reveal dial, silvered dial marked for American retailer Shreve Crump & Low, SW-SS, lever escapement, 17J, nickel damascene, s#191576. CONDITION: Mvt: Running, excellent-plus cosmetic mvt condition overall, some toning of plates; visible portion of dial with short perimeter scratch at 11:30, few lesser marks elsewhere; excellent hands; case interior not tipping open with gravity when shutters are opened so must be lifted out via inserting a small tool to catch and lift upper portion, right side shutter often remains open after case sides are released and needs some prodding to shut, case shows little wear, an attractive light patina, few mild soft dings, engraving detail with mild reduction, sides have been restored in soft enamel; crown shows light wear; good glass crystal.
