Zenith, Swiss, lever escapement marine chronometer with 8-day winding indicator, mvt signed both by Zenith and Vail Watch Co. (a registered American company), mounted in gimbaled brass tub within a three-tier wooden box, also comes with outer transportation box with leather strap, silvered dial of approximately 2.25 inch diameter signed "Zenith Chronometer," lever escapement, 6J, nickel damascene, s#200920. NOTE: This lot contains heavy and/or fragile item(s). While Jones & Horan can ship this lot to the winner, please factor higher shipping costs into your bid. CONDITION: Mvt: Running, good winding indicator function, excellent cosmetic mvt condition overall, scattered fine scratches to plates, some dark spots of finish loss at area of "VAIL Watch Co." mvt engraving; dial with light brown discoloration, some fading of winding indicator register markings; excellent hands with very light tarnish to the hour hand; tub and gimbals show light wear, light finish loss to portions and fine scratches to the back of the tub; good plastic crystal; inner box shows light wear with some scattered scratches and nicks, upper lid has a light crack running along the back edge, good display glass, buttons latch good. Outer box shows light wear, light horizontal crack on bottom of box, scattered scratches and nicks, mounting hole drilled on right side of the box and what looks like hole that wasn't finished on the left side, leather strap shows medium wear, mainly around the hole, buckle shows light oxide.
