Hamilton, 16-watch pocket watch carrying case, leather exterior marked in gold foil to its upper surface with "The Hamilton Watch The Railroad Timekeeper of America" and to its front with "'Hamilton Watch',", interior with gold foil markings "The Hamilton Watch The Railroad Timekeeper of America" to silk lid line, case measures approximately 10.5 inches x 6.5 inches x 2.5 inches. This piece would have originally had felt-lined insets for eight watches in its lower level and felt-lined insets for its removable inner tray. A scarce item for the Hamilton pocket watch collector, these style watch carry cases make for terrific eye-catching display pieces in one's watch room or at a watch show. These carrying cases were identified in Hamilton factory literature as "leather Salesman Sample Case for 16 Watches." CONDITION: Exterior shows medium wear, scattered scratches, leather splits, and areas of leather loss, latches with good function; interior silk liner is excellent; removable inner tray is present but is missing its felt lined watch inserts; bottom portion also missing its felt lined watch inserts.
