WW - Wittnauer Alarm Watch, ref 1216, manual wind, 36mm x 41mm to lug tips, 18mm lug width, original gold-filled case with stainless steel snap back, rotating bezel to wind and set the alarm, black leather strap, original white fish-scale dial with applied gold Art Deco numerals, 17J cal 10WA, s#274555, triple signed. Wittnauer's Alarm Watch is one of the first production alarm watches to feature a modular alarm complication. All alarm functions are completed by turning the bezel - simply rotate the bezel counterclockwise to both wind the alarm barrel and move the serpentine alarm hand into position. When fully wound, the alarm lasts about seven seconds. It is important to note that the alarm should not be over-wound, best practice is to keep the bezel at under 1.5 rotations to avoid damage. CONDITION: Mvt: Running, alarm functions and sets properly, excellent cosmetic mvt condition overall, a few light surface scratches and light spotting to plates, no oxide; fine-plus dial with light surface spots and a stain between 7 and 8; excellent hands with a few fine scratches and hardly any oxide; polished case shows light any wear, a few small dings to case sides, lugs, and bezel; replacement crown shows light wear, logo has been polished down; good plastic crystal with a few black spots inside, a thorough crystal cleaning is recommended. Estimate: $400 - $700 JH-79284
