Status: Sold
APW - Hamilton, Grade 992B, U.S. Ordnance Department watch, 21J, 16S, chrome-plated base metal OF case with contract markings to rear, white enamel SS dial with 13 to 24 hour numerals, SW-LS, fully capped lever escapement, mono-metallic balance with Elinvar hairspring, "U.S. Govt." marked mvt, striped pattern nickel damascene, s#C113944. CONDITION: Mvt: NR, fully wound, balance is gummy but will tick weakly with some excess pressure held to crown, overhaul needed, nearly mint cosmetic mvt condition overall, plates nearly pristine with very few micro-fine scratches, steelwork with some scattered tiny oxide speckle; dial virtually flawless though with surface dirtiness; fine hands with oxide; case shows hardly any wear, some fine scratches to rear, no dents, superb contract marking detail, rear circular finish remains fully intact, case inexplicably shows some witness marks from another mvt's case screws but is correct to this specific watch type so we assess may well be original but temporarily another mvt was attempted with it; tight bow, crown shows little wear; clean plastic crystal. Estimate: $350 - $500 JH-79632
