Orr & Sons, Madras, minute repeater with digital jump hour and minutes, English movement, 52mm, heavy 18K gold original HC bearing English hallmarks for 1885, "LW" in cameo for casemaker Louis Weill, gold cuvette, fancy engraved gilt dial with applied silver filigree detail and central apertures for jumping hours and minutes, subsidiary seconds below, fully capped English lever escapement, at least 19J, gilt mvt, s#696 with matching serial number within case. Gross weight of assembled watch 93.2 dwt (144.8 g). A beautiful and rarely seen combination of complications. CONDITION: Mvt: Running, good repeat function and tone, good jump hour and minute function although second digit of minute display will occasionally land very slightly out of alignment, excellent-plus cosmetic mvt condition overall, scattered pinpoint nicks and micro-fine scratches; dial with few micro-fine scratches, one nick above 12 under bezel; excellent jumping discs, scattered micro-fine scratches, light loss of print to second minute digit seven, fine-plus sweep-seconds hand with fine scratches and light loss of finish; case shows light wear, few minimal nicks, no dents, good engine turning detail aside from slight reduction at shoulders; tight bow, crown shows little wear; good glass crystal.
