EPW - Jules Jürgensen, Copenhagen, 51mm, very heavy 18K gold HC with beautiful royal blue enamel detail including beautiful front heraldry depicting the Waller family coat of arms represented by a shield with the arms of France on triangular shield hanging from a walnut tree above a ribbon displaying the motto "Hic Fructus Virtutis Et Agincourt" (Latin: "This is the Fruit of Valour at Agincourt"), rear with monogram initials, small Jürgensen lips, bow with chain guards, glazed observation cuvette, white enamel SS dial, SW-bow-set, fully capped lever escapement with counterpoise, 20-21J, fausses-côtes pattern nickel damascene, s#12068 with matching serial number within case. Gross weight of assembled watch 83.0 dwt (129.0 g). A strikingly impressive example featuring an elegantly enameled case bearing the Waller family coat of arms, the design of which was inspired by the legendary exploits of Sir Richard Waller during the Hundred Years' War. At the Battle of Agincourt in 1415, he captured Charles d'Orléans, Duke of Orléans, and was knighted on the battlefield by King Henry V in recognition of his valor. CONDITION: Mvt: Running after a twist to start, fine-plus cosmetic mvt condition overall, scattered fine to micro-fine scratches, portions of crown wheel bridge with micro-fine scratch striations likely caused by past wiping or rub; dial with two very short hls between center and upper rim of seconds-register with one having an extremely narrow sliver of scratch-like material loss along its length; nearly mint hands; case shows little wear, no dents, few pinpoint nicks to band, enameling nearly fully present with only some small scattered flakes of loss which are primarily within lettering of motto; tight bow, crown shows little wear; good glass crystals. Estimate: $6,000 - $8,000 JH-79951
