APW - Columbus, Columbus King, 25J, 18S, gold-filled HC recase with very attractive engine turning and floral engraving detail, "Columbus King 25 Jewels" marked white enamel DS dial, SW-LS, fully capped lever escapement, jeweled barrel as well as jeweled barrel arbor, nickel damascene, s#503160. A very rare watch, the total production of the 25 jewel hunting case Columbus is believed to be only 100 made. This total is divided among movements marked "Columbus King" and "Railway King". CONDITION: Mvt: Running, excellent cosmetic mvt condition overall, some scratches adjacent case screw areas, few fine to micro-fine scratches elsewhere, plates with some ultra-fine scratch striations from past wipings which are more evident to barrel bridge which has a bit darker tone relative to main plate; excellent dial with only a small edge chip near 7:30 which is nearly entirely under bezel; excellent hands, some oxide to minute tip; case shows very little wear, no dents, excellent engine turning and engraving detail; bow pivots semi-freely, crown shows very little wear; good glass crystal.
