APW - Waltham, American Watch Co, Model 1872, 21J, 16S, 14K gold original Roy HC, gold cuvette, white enamel SS dial with Canadian market 13 to 24 hour numerals, SW-LS, fully capped lever escapement, beautiful ornate quilted pattern nickel damascene, s#2788068. Gross weight of assembled watch 73.6 dwt (114.4 g). A beautifully finished top grade movement, Waltham's Model 1872 "American Watch Co." grade is considered by many collectors to represent the peak of movement finish quality and aesthetics among American industrial watchmaking. CONDITION: Mvt: Running, excellent-plus cosmetic mvt condition overall, bright lustrous surfaces, some scattered fine to micro-fine scratches, steelwork with few fine specks; nearly flawless dial with few micro-fine scratches and pinpoint nicks, small semi-circular mark of hand drag within seconds-register; case shows medium wear, scattered dings and nicks, reduced engine turning detail with much of shoulders fully lost; tight bow thinned at top, crown shows medium wear with some ridge break; good glass crystal.
