Clock - LeCoultre Co., Swiss, 8-day travel clock with integrated stand, side of case engraved "U.S. Destroyer Lansdale December 20, 1946," measures 63mm x 104mm when closed, rose gilt and brown leather case folds out into stand form, copper colored dial with luminous numerals and hands, SW-SS, not disassembled to inspect mvt, s#070684 to rear of case. An interesting piece with case engraving associated with a U.S. Navy ship. Interestingly, the date of the inscription matches to USS Lansdale (DD-766) which was launched December 20th, 1946 but which ultimately saw no active service, being towed to port in 1956 and stricken from the Naval Vessel Register in 1958. CONDITION: Mvt: Ticking with substantial audible sluggishness of beat, overhaul recommended, case not opened to inspect mvt cosmetics; nearly flawless dial with few small surface spots below-left of center; excellent hands; case shows very little wear, some scattered mild short scratches and small nicks, leather with few dark spots; crown shows very little wear; good glass crystal. Estimate: $200 - $400 JH-81133
