EPW - Henry Harris, London, gold repoussé verge fusee, 47mm, 22K gold OF pair cases, outer case with ornate classical repoussé scene depicting a seated woman reaching for a dog that is standing above a larger dog below, outer case containing a paper for American watchmaker Wm. Sirwell of Pittsburgh, gold champlevé dial , KWKS (key not included with this lot), verge escapement, gilt mvt with pierced and foliate scrolled balance cock with grotesque mask at neck, no visible s#. Gross weight of assembled watch 53.7 dwt (83.6 g). Materials tested via XRF analysis. CONDITION: Mvt: Ticking sluggishly, setting not attempted as minute hand with improper fit, overhaul recommended, excellent cosmetic mvt condition overall, scattered fine scratches; excellent dial with few fine scratches; hands excellent cosmetically though minute hand is seated too high on setting arbor and will need attention to seat lower to allow setting; outer case shows light wear, thin gauge case rear with some fractures and punctures including loss of dog's head, no dents, good repoussé detail; inner case shows light wear, profuse dents and dings throughout; bow pivots freely; plastic crystal with some fine scratches.
