EPW - Paul Hubert, single hand oignon style verge fusee, 60mm, gilt case with ornate rear classical scene depicting a winged putto pouring wine into the chalice of a seated figure, engraved gilt dial with raised enamel numeral plaques and center chapter, KW through center arbor on dial side (key not included with this lot) and set via manual push of hand, verge escapement, gilt mvt with two-footed balance bridge having an urn at center and with two perched birds among its pierced foliate detail, no visible s#. A superb example of this iconic early watch type. We believe the case imagery is likely a representation of Bacchus, the Greek god of wine-making and festivities. CONDITION: Mvt: Running, winding turning stiffly at times, overhaul recommended for this issue, excellent cosmetic mvt condition overall, some scattered fine scratches, some ultra-fine scratch striations from past wiping(s); excellent dial, superb gilt tone, some hls to enamel portions; excellent hand; case shows very little wear, no dents, excellent engraving detail; brassy bow pivots freely; good domed glass bull's-eye crystal. Estimate: $3,000 - $4,500 JH-80000
