APW - Ball Waltham, Official RR Standard, 19J, 16S, gold-filled OF Ball Model recase has been later replated in high karat gold, inner case rear with signature ring for retailer Pugh Bros. Jewelry Co. of Pittsburgh, PA, white enamel SS dial with Roman 1 to 12 hour numerals and Canadian market 13 to 24 Arabic numerals, SW-LS, jeweled barrel, bull's-eye pattern nickel damasceen, s#B204877. This example is highlighted by its rare and very unusual dial - Webb C. Ball was very outspoken in his advocacy for simple bold Arabic numeral dials and seldom departed from this style, and the present piece with its chapters of Roman and Arabic numerals in radial orientation is among the most exotic styles of Ball Official RR Standard dial one will see. CONDITION: Mvt: Running after prodding through a very reluctant start, excellent cosmetic mvt condition overall, some scattered fine to micro-fine scratches; nearly flawless dial with few micro-fine scratches and minuscule pinpoint surface nicks; excellent hands; case has been plated in high karat yellow gold which gives a deep yellow color throughout, case shows ample wear, numerous dings and shallow dents throughout rear; tight bow, crown shows medium wear; thick glass crystal with scattered scratches and nicks.
