APW - Hamilton, very rare 11J, "Constant. St. Louis, MO" marked mvt, "Mermod Jaccard & Co. St. Louis, MO" marked dial, 18S, gold-filled HC recase with attractive engine turning and engraving detail including a seaside home scene to rear, white enamel SS dial, SW-LS, gilt mvt, s#25043. A very rare watch, the total production of this gilt hunting case version of the 11 jewel Hamilton is believed to be only 100 made. CONDITION: Mvt: Running, fair cosmetic mvt condition overall, plates with dulled yellowed tone, barrel bridge with areas of fingerprint etching in brownish color, some scattered surface spots and fine scratches elsewhere; visible portion of dial with few scattered hls, small surface flake near 12; hour and minute hands are blued and excellent aside from oxide and evident polishing of minute hub, fine seconds-hand is a black replacement; case rear exterior with filing marks in two areas from past gold testing, lips of case front and rear with file marks from past gold testing, and outer surface of cuvette with two areas of filing from past gold testing, case shows medium wear, ding to band at 12:30, reduced engraving detail and much of engine turning detail is fully lost; smaller sized replacement bow pivots freely, crown shows medium wear; good glass crystal.
