APW - Illinois, Bunn, 16J, 18S, gold-filled HC recase with attractive floral engraving detail, front shield with initials, cuvette with 1914 presentation engraving, white enamel DS dial with fancy Roman numerals and Old English signature, SW-LS, Chalmer's patent regulator, nickel damascene, s#1185827. A rare watch, the 16 jewel Bunn variants were short-lived and acted as a brief transitional stage before being replaced by 17 jewel versions. Total production of this hunting case Model 5 16 jewel Bunn is believed to be approximately 333 made. CONDITION: Mvt: Running, fine-plus cosmetic mvt condition overall, some toning of plates, typical scattered mild fine to micro-fine scratches and small surface spots, regulator index and disk with some areas of oxide, case screws are mismatched with one having a flat head and one a rounded head; dial with outer chapter hl at 5:30, few small fine to micro-fine scratches, some scattered very small edge nicks under bezel; excellent hands, slight bend to hour; case shows very light wear, no dents, somewhat reduced engine turning and engraving detail; tight bow, replacement crown shows very little wear; glass crystal with edge flakes around upper portion.
