APW - Illinois, Washington Watch Co, Army and Navy, Grade 806, 21J, 16S, gold-filled OF original case, white enamel DS dial, SW-LS, fully capped lever escapement, nickel damascene, s#3036371. A rare watch, we believe the total production of this Grade 806 Model 8 version of the Army & Navy to be approximately 340 made. CONDITION: Mvt: Running with some error in the flat of its balance motion, winding "coast" (turn in reverse direction) is stiff, hairspring has small area of visible surface rust to its outer coil and its overcoil, fine cosmetic mvt condition overall, plates with some toning, some scattered fine to micro-fine scratches and pinpoint surface nicks, pallet bridge with prominent filing marks throughout, winding wheels and regulator spring with oxide throughout; dial with scattered hls including clusters at 3 and 11, small edge flake at 11; fine hands with oxide, hour and minute are plum colored, seconds-hand is blue; case shows medium wear, scattered dings and shallow dents, substantially reduced engraving detail, thin slivers of wear to brass following band/bezel and band/rear seams, areas of wear to brass to bezel; tight bow, crown shows medium wear; glass crystal with numerous scratches.
