Gruen & Sons, Dresden, made by Assmann, 49mm, HC model mvt cased in sidewinder orientation in gold-filled OF recase, hand scribed letter within shield, initials and date hand scribed inside rear, "D. Gruen & Sons Precision Watch" marked white enamel DS dial with gold foil arabic numeral details, SW-LS, fully capped lever escapement with gold pallet having moustache counterpoise, 20-21J, snail cam regulator, fausses-côtes pattern nickel damascene, s#63996. CONDITION: Mvt: Running, fine cosmetic mvt condition overall, very light cloudy haze to plates, few scattered short scratches and some scattered micro-fine scratches, ample oxide to winding wheels and light to medium oxide elsewhere to steelwork; dial with edge chip, flakes, and associated hls at setting lever partially under bezel, ample bezel scrape under bezel; excellent hour and seconds-hand, fine-plus minute with ample oxide to tip; case shows little wear, some small extremely mild dents to rear, scattered small to tiny dings and nicks to band; bow pivots freely, crown show very little wear; good glass crystal.
