EPW - Unsigned Swiss, Chinese market duplex with center-seconds in the style of Bovet of Fleurier, 55mm, silver OF original case bearing London hallmarks (if not faux hallmarks) with 1845 date letter, case with spring loaded back, spring-loaded cuvette, cream colored enamel dial, KWKS (key not included with this lot), duplex escapement, 10J, standing barrel, ornately engraved gilt mvt, s#100910 within case. An attractive example, in fairly scarce smaller size than is more typically seen for this watch type. CONDITION: Mvt: Started ticking when wound but stopping frequently at a consistent seconds-hand position, overhaul needed for this issue, nearly mint cosmetic mvt condition overall, superb gilt tone, barrel stopworks with some spots of oxide; dial flawless in visible portion; excellent hands; case shows light wear, an attractive acquired patina, scattered dings to rear and bezel; tight bow, push shows medium wear; clean plastic crystal.
