PW lot (2) European, 18K gold cases, KWKS (a key is included with this lot as pictured), gilt mvts, lever escapements, 15J, both run though one is ticking sluggishly - [1] Swiss, signed as "M.J. Tobias, Liverpool" though watch is entirely of Swiss-made origin, 44mm, OF case with image of a seated dog to rear, signed brass cuvette bearing attributes, gold-capped dial with beautiful sailing scene at center, s#9944 within case, ticking sluggishly; gross weight of assembled watch 31.6 dwt (49.1 g). The Tobias signature of this present piece is possibly entirely spurious, as we have yet to see any firm evidence that these Swiss-made "Tobias" marked watches have a legitimate association with the English-based Tobias firm. [2] Pendant watch: Robbert Monnuot, Locle, 41mm, HC with attractive engine turning and engraving detail, signed gold cuvette bearing attributes, white enamel SS impressed dial, s#62675 to cuvette; gross weight of assembled watch 33.4 dwt (52.0 g).
