LPW - Philadelphia Watch Co, 19J, 8S (42mm case diameter), 13K gold drum style original B.W.C.Co. HC with attractive engine turning and engraving detail including a small home scene within rear shield, bow with chain guards, gold cuvette, "Philada Watch Co. E. Paulus" marked white enamel SS dial, KWKS (key not included with this lot), nickel damascene, mvt marked "Paulus' Patents," s#1811. Materials tested via XRF analysis. Gross weight of assembled watch 34.7 dwt (54.0 g). An attractive gold-cased example from this maker, with movement believed to be primarily of Swiss production and made for the American market. CONDITION: Mvt: NR, fully wound, balance swings freely but with no audible or visible escapement action so we suspect a possible roller jewel issue but have not disassembled to confirm, overhaul needed, fine-plus cosmetic mvt condition overall, some areas of cloudy haze, scattered fine to micro-fine scratches; dial flawless in visible portion; excellent hands; case shows little wear, compression type indentation of rear, some scattered dings, good engine turning and engraving detail; tight bow, push shows ample wear and some soldered repair of its upper portion; good glass crystal.
