APW - Ball Elgin, Official RR Standard, Grade 329, 17J, 18S, gold-filled HC recase, white enamel SS dial, SW-LS, bull's-eye pattern nickel damascene, s#11958067. A very rare watch with a total production believed to be approximately 200 made based on known examples, as a production block of 1000 serial numbers was reserved for this grade but all examples we have encountered fall within the initial 200 serial number indicating that approximately 80% of the blocked production run was not actually finished. CONDITION: Mvt: Running, fine cosmetic mvt condition overall, bright lustrous surfaces, many scattered fine to micro-fine scratches with greatest profusion being to barrel bridge around regulator adjustment screw, few deeper scratches adjacent case screw areas, some small portions of finish loss to balance cock foot, regulator assembly with oxide and regulator spring with fine scratch striations from sanding; visible portion of dial with scattered hls, scratch at 12; excellent hands; case shows ample wear, numerous dents and dings to rear, no engine turning detail remains, strips of wear to brass at shoulders and to edges of front and rear; brassy bow pivots freely and is thinned at top, crown shows medium wear; good glass crystal.
