APW - Elgin, Lord Elgin, Grade 451, 19J, 12S, 14K white gold OF original "Lord Elgin Classic Model" case with beautiful acid etched detail inside rear, gold cuvette with acid etched signature ring and engraved 1927 presentation, metal dial with stylish gold Arabic numerals, SW-SS, lever escapement with capped lever, striped pattern nickel damascene, s#25269384. Gross weight of assembled watch 35.2 dwt (54.7 g). A high grade dress watch with very eye-appealing case. CONDITION: Mvt: Running, crown not engaging winding mechanism when fully pushed down and must be pulled up as if setting hands in order to wind but will pull out completely with no force, overhaul needed, area of yellow/brown toning to train bridge near signature and some very light cloudiness elsewhere, some scattered fine to micro-fine scratches, few tiny specks of oxide to regulator; dial with few small yellow surface spots between 11 and 2, very few micro-fine scratches; excellent replacement seconds-hand, fair hour and minute with ample oxide; case shows virtually no wear, no dents or dings, some tiny nicks to band, cuvette with some prominent marring from past slipped openings, superb crisp engine turning detail; tight bow, crown shows light wear; good thick glass crystal.
