APW - Hamilton, Grade 938, 17J, 18S, gold-filled OF recase with attractive engine turning and engraving detail, white enamel DS dial, SW-LS, ornate nickel damascene, s#13788. The Grade 938, and its hunting case equivalent Grade 939, were Hamilton's finest quality 17 jewel 18 size watches and feature beautiful movement finish with ornate nickel damascene, gold jewel settings, gold balance screws, and mirror finish steelwork including a disk around the balance jewel setting. CONDITION: Mvt: Running, fine-plus cosmetic mvt condition overall, bright lustrous surfaces, some scattered scratches, fine scratches, and small surface nicks; dial with outer chapter hl at 7, small edge chip at setting lever area, few fine scratches and small surface nicks; excellent hour hand and seconds-hand, fine minute hand with oxide to tip and finish loss to portions of stem; case shows little wear, few tiny nicks, no dents, good engine turning and engraving detail; bow pivots semi-freely, crown shows light wear; good glass crystal.
