APW - Hamilton, Grade 974 with rare damascene, 17J, 16S, nickel OF display case with Hamilton marked bezels, white enamel SS dial, nickel damascene, gilt mvt screws and regulator assembly, s#862810. The very unusual special finish damascene of this watch was made exclusively by Hamilton for the Luckenbach & Co. of Los Angeles, California and is found among several different 16 and 18 size grades but all were made in small quantities. CONDITION: Mvt: Ticking sluggishly, overhaul needed, excellent-plus cosmetic mvt condition overall, bright lustrous plates, scattered fine to micro-fine scratches to winding wheels and hubs with few elsewhere, scattered small to tiny spots of oxide to steelwork; dial with hl at 6, some additional scattered faint hls and fine to micro-fine scratches; excellent hour hand, fine-plus minute and seconds; case shows medium wear, light cloudy tarnish with some scattered darker spots near edges, few scattered short fine scratches and tiny mild dings, reduced Hamilton marking detail; tight bow, crown shows light wear and has excess up/down play; good glass crystals.
