APW - Waltham, Riverside Maximus, 23J, 16S, 14K gold original HC with initials to front, gold cuvette, white enamel DS dial with distinctive script "Waltham" signature characteristic to this mvt grade, SW-SS, fully capped lever escapement, diamond endstones on balance and escape wheel, jeweled barrel, ornate nickel damascene, s#12563082. Gross weight of assembled watch 58.6 dwt (91.1 g). CONDITION: Mvt: NR, fully wound, balance swings freely but with no audible or visible escapement action so we suspect a possible roller jewel issue but have not disassembled to confirm, fine cosmetic mvt condition overall, winding wheels with evident micro-fine scratch striations from past polishing or sanding which has dulled their finish and diminished their damascene definition, mvt plates are superb with few micro-fine scratches and pinpoint nicks; dial with scattered hls which include a cluster at 9 that has two small associated surface flakes; fine hands, hour and minute are mismatched styles; case front opens wide of 90 degrees (to approximately 120 degrees), case shows light wear, prominent dents to band at 6, 10:30, and 12, some lesser dents and dings elsewhere to band, some mild dings to front and rear, good engraving detail; tight bow, crown shows light wear; good glass crystal.
