APW - Waltham, Crescent St. with rare dial, 21J, Model 1892, 18S, gold-filled OF recase, rear shield with initials, unusual white enamel DS dial with staggered marginal minute numerals with an inner odd numbered chapter and outer even numbered chapter, marked "Pat Appl'd For" above seconds-register, SW-LS, fully capped lever escapement, nickel damascene, s#9518112. This watch is highlighted by its rare and eye-catching dial, this very unusual dial style is believed to have been designed by Waltham Watch Co. President Ezra C. Fitch. CONDITION: Mvt: NR, fully wound, balance is gummy, overhaul needed, excellent-plus cosmetic mvt condition overall, bright lustrous surfaces, few fine to micro-fine scratches, two jewel setting screws are blued replacements; dial with light outer chapter hls at 2, 4, and 6, faint hl within center section above seconds-register extending to 10, short scratch within center section at 4; fine hands with some areas of oxide; case shows medium wear, scattered dings and nicks, reduced engine turning detail with portions of full loss at perimeter areas, wear to brass in small portions of band, some file marks in inner lip of rear presumably from past gold content testing; tight bow, crown shows ample wear; good glass crystal but with imperfect fit that causes it to pop out easily. Estimate: $500 - $800 JH-80943
