APW - Waltham, Grade 845 with scarce conversion style dial, 21J, Model 1892, 18S, gold-filled OF recase with very attractive engine turning and engraving detail, "Waltham Watch Co., No. 845" marked SS dial with seconds-register at 3 allowing this HC model mvt to orient properly in an OF style case with pendant at 12, SW-LS, lever escapement with capped escape wheel, jeweled barrel, nickel damascene, s#16159547. A scarce and attractive dial that is visually well-balanced with its arrangement of seconds-register at 3 and factory and grade marking at 9. Waltham produced these conversion style dials for the 1892 model Vanguard, Crescent St. and Grade 845. CONDITION: Mvt: Running, fine-plus cosmetic mvt condition overall, bright lustrous plates with few mild fine to micro-fine scratches, substantial oxide throughout regulator assembly, oxide to smaller winding wheel; dial with scattered hls; fine hands, minute with abrasion and punch marks to its central hub; case rear threads on and off very stiffly and watch will be sent with case rear only partially threaded on, case shows little wear, numerous dings and nicks to band including a cluster of dings at 2, good engraving detail; tight bow, crown shows light wear; good glass crystal.
