APW - Illinois, Bunn Special with scarce "D.R. marking, 21J, 18S, gold-filled OF recase, white enamel DS Gothic numeral dial, SW-LS, fully capped lever escapement, bright spotted pattern nickel damascene, s#1711578. A scarce movement marked "D.R." near its balance cock foot denoting double roller, this marking was short-lived and was eliminated in favor of a spelled out "Double Roller" marking for the remainder of production to follow. CONDITION: Mvt: Running, some light excess escapement noise when turned in different positions, excellent-plus cosmetic mvt condition overall, bright lustrous plates, few short nicks left of fourth wheel jewel setting, some short fine scratches near barrel bridge screws, medium oxide to case screw and light to medium oxide to regulator with few tiny spots elsewhere to steelwork; dial with hl at 12 and 4, few scattered short fine to micro-fine scratches, small gouge at 10:30, tiny edge chip at 2:30 under bezel, few areas of light edge wear; fine-plus hour hand with light oxide, fine seconds and minute with medium oxide; case shows ample wear, some scattered small mild dents to band and very few to rear, clusters of tiny nicks to band and some tiny nicks elsewhere, wear to brass to throughout nearly all of rear and band; tight brassy bow, crown shows little wear; good glass crystal.
