APW - U.S. Watch Co of Waltham, 15J, 16S, 14K gold original HC, gold cuvette, white enamel DS dial with impressed center, SW-LS, ornate acid etched nickel mvt finish, s#136382. Gross weight of assembled watch 52.1 dwt (81.0 g). Among American makers this style of mirror finish and acid etched movement finish was unique to the U.S. Watch Co. of Waltham, and this example features the charming inclusion of a butterfly and a bee among its acid etched floral design. CONDITION: Mvt: Ticking very sluggishly on a full wind, overhaul needed, fine-plus cosmetic mvt condition overall, some scattered fine to micro-fine scratches, train bridge with some ultra-fine scratch striations; visible portion of dial with scattered hls; excellent hour hand and minute hand, fine seconds-hand with oxide; case shows medium wear, profusion of dents and dings to rear with majority distributed around shoulders, some lesser dents and dings to band and cuvette, reduced engine turning detail with areas of full loss at shoulders; tight bow, crown shows ample wear; good glass crystal.
