Roehm of Detroit, Michigan, 46mm, 14K gold OF original case with initials to rear, gold cuvette engraved "Herbert H. Adams, M.C.R.R., Detroit," white enamel SS dial with fancy Arabic hour numerals, SW-SS, lever escapement, 17J, fausses-côtes pattern nickel damascene, s#17257. Gross weight of assembled watch 45.1 dwt (70.1 g). An attractive dress watch with inscription for Herbert Henry Adams (born August 13, 1876), long-time Michigan Central Railroad employee who began with the railroad's engineering department in 1899 before progressing to superintendent roles. CONDITION: Mvt: Running, excellent cosmetic mvt condition overall, scattered fine to micro-fine scratches; dial with scattered hls, short scratch at 10; excellent hands; case shows little wear, no dents, good engraving detail; tight bow, crown shows light wear; good glass crystal.
