EPW - Gruen, Swiss, Verithin, 43mm, 14K gold OF original Gruen case with initials to rear, gold cuvette, fancy white enamel SS dial with blue Arabic numerals in radial orientation and gold foil minute marks, SW-SS, lever escapement, 17J, fausses-côtes pattern nickel damascene, s#459331. Gross weight of assembled watch 31.3 dwt (48.7 g). CONDITION: Mvt: Running, crown must be pressed downward to engage winding mechanism and crown will unthread from stem if turned in reverse while winding or setting, overhaul recommended for this issue, fine cosmetic mvt condition overall, scattered fine to micro-fine scratches and abrasions, some oxide to steelwork; dial with hl from center to 1, cluster of hls from edge between 1 and 2 extending approximately halfway toward center; poor hands with finish loss and substantial oxide; case bezel not securing with tendency to pop off frequently while handling, case shows light wear, prominent dings to lower rear shoulder and upper rear shoulder, additional dings elsewhere to rear and band, good engraving detail; bow pivots freely, crown shows medium wear; glass crystal clouded with profuse abrasions throughout central portion.
