EPW - Francis Bolt, London, verge fusee, 49mm, silver OF pair cases, outer with classical repoussé detail depicting a reclined woman surrounded by three soldiers and a kneeling figure, inner case bearing London hallmarks for 1759, casemaker's incuse "R P," white enamel dial, KWKS (key not included with this lot), verge escapement, gilt mvt with pierced and foliate scrolled balance cock, s#629. CONDITION: Mvt: Running, fine-plus cosmetic mvt condition overall, scattered scratches, fine scratches, and surface nicks; dial with small edge flake near 9, some scattered short scratches and small surface nicks; hands cosmetically excellent though of differing styles and gilt tones; outer case shows light wear, a lovely dark patina with attractive contrast to the highest elements having brighter silver tone, no dents, good overall engraving detail through most areas though with loss of detail to highest figures, three figures with small punctures to their heads, button latch good; inner case shows medium wear, profuse dents and dings with the most notable being a prominent dent at lower-left of rear; bow pivots freely; good domed glass bull's-eye crystal.
