EPW - Valentin Stoss in Ulm, quarter-hour repeater verge fusee doctor's watch with calendar, 54mm, silver OF case, signed gilt spring-loaded cuvette, white enamel dial, KWKS (key not included with this lot), mvt not removed from case to inspect escapement type, gilt mvt with pierced and foliate scrolled two-footed balance bridge, s#34503 within case. CONDITION: Mvt: NR, will tick briefly with a twist and occasionally will continue on for some time, seconds-hand rubbing on underside of crystal so replacement with a crystal with better clearance will be necessary, setting is very challenging as setting arbor is worn, calendar function in need of attention as occasionally calendar hand seemingly advance properly but at other times moved prematurely and several days at a time, good repeat function for hand settings between 1:00 and 11:59 but with consistent failure to return any strikes when hands are set between 12:00 and 12:59, repeat tone is dull and rattles on hour strikes and secondary tone of quarter-hour strikes, fine cosmetic mvt condition overall, hazy plates with scattered fine to micro-fine scratches and surface nicks; dial with numerous chipped areas filled with yellowed material, numerous hls; fine hands; case shows medium wear, a darkened patina, some scattered dings; tight bow; domed glass bull's-eye crystal with some mild scratches and nicks.
