PW lot (2) Elgin, 21J, OF cases, white enamel DS dials, nickel damascene, both run though one started sluggishly - [1] Grade 162, 16S, gold-filled case, SW-SS, s#7437525, running after a sluggish start; a beautifully finished high grade watch, although 4000 serial numbers were blocked by Elgin for Grade 162 production, per statistical analysis by Pocket Watch Database of known examples it is believed that total production of the Grade 162 was actually approximately 2650 made with approximately 1350 of the reserved serial numbers not completed. [2] Veritas, Grade 239, 18S, "Veritas Model E.N.W.Co." nickel case, time-zone hour hands, s#10860581; an attractive example made more interesting by its scarce Veritas Model signed case and by its time-zone hour hands.
