PW mvt only - Adams & Perry, mvt signed "Lancaster Watch, PA," 20J, 19S, HC model mvt, dial is missing, SW-SS, fully capped lever escapement, gilt mvt, s#1253. Currently in need of restoration, but a scarce early movement deserving of the effort. Based on observed examples it appears the total production of this gilt version of the Adams & Perry model movement was approximately 600 made with observed examples distributing among serial numbers between the 1200s and the 1700s. This example is from notably early within this range and differs from others we have encountered in that its signature is positioned lower on its main plate and has an abbreviated "PA" marking rather than the typical "Penna" marking. CONDITION: Mvt: NR, balance not moving freely and lower balance jewels are missing, center arbor is missing, click is missing, hour and minute wheels are missing, hairspring stud has surface rust and small portions of balance wheel have surface rust, fine cosmetic mvt condition overall, darkened and uneven plate tone, some scattered surface spots and fine to micro-fine scratches, balance cock has a mild rust colored mark where the regulator apparently was previously positioned; dial is missing; hands are missing.
